Interesting - I was really contemplating getting tickets for that. I guess though that I wouldn't have been lucky anyway.
I didn't knowHarriet Jones Penelope Wilton was playing Gertrude in that! And Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ophelia! Half the DW gang there. *G*
"And the only blip in Hamlet's death scene was a badly-timed mobile phone ring from somewhere in row E."
--- ooooh, now can it get any more embarrassing than that?

Date: 2009-06-05 09:29 pm (UTC)If I am not mistaken Rowan will leave Oliver in July and I guess it'll be hard to find a proper substitute, because he was brilliant and man he can really sing. Well, Burn's a great actor, but he definitely has no singing skills *lol*

Date: 2009-06-05 09:43 pm (UTC)Aw, I guess I'll miss Rowan then. I had no idea he was a good singer though. And Burn, bless him, I don't care if he can sing or not, I'd still like to have seen a Torchwood musical episode.
... I just realised you replied in German earlier and I kept writing in English. Sorry. Got English telly on in the background, can't concentrate on two language at the same time. :-P

Date: 2009-06-05 09:50 pm (UTC)I had no idea either. Just heard him on the Lion King Soundtrack and it was fun. But he's got a great voice. A Torchwood musical episode would have been great, especially considering the fact that John has such a tremendous voice. I loved to see Burn in the theatre. Never liked him much, but I do now.
*lol*. Didn't realise this either. I am watching the Chart Show on telly at the moment. Somehow it works to switch from German to English today. It doesn't every day *gg*.

Date: 2009-06-05 10:09 pm (UTC)Rowan was in The Lion King? Really? Haha.
I always liked Burn. Owen was probably not the easiest character to like, but Burn is a very good actor. He must be very good on stage.
I'm rubbish at jumping between languages. I can't even translate for my parents when they come over to visit, cos it literally takes me a few minutes to change from one language to the other.

Can't say why, but I never liked Burn much, but I do now. Bill is such a bad person in Oliver, but he really played it well and convincing. Shame he didn't come to the stage door.
Oh.. don't ask me to translate anything *gg*. Sometimes if I have to write a simple mail to the colleagues in England I don't know how to do that, because you have to find the proper words *gg*. Some days it works better than on others *gg*.

Date: 2009-06-05 10:38 pm (UTC)Oh, the film, I see. I think I've only ever seen the film in German.
Oh, I know. It's especially bad when my parents ask me about uni. Cos there's so many words specific to my studies that I don't even know the German translations of. My mum likes to make fun of me cos of that. lol
I don't mean to sound all stalkery, but I just had a quick look at your profile, and Mark Gatiss! *squee* I adore that man so much! XD

Date: 2009-06-06 10:44 am (UTC)The specific words can be really tough. I mean I know a lot of daily talk due to using LJ and some board, but even I don't know all the phrases some of the colleagues uses. There sure have been some misunderstandings on both sides before.
You're not stalkery at all - that's what a profile is for. There really is another Mark Gatiss fan on LJ *squees*. Gosh, I know him for ages, ever since I first watched LoG I'm a total fan. Mark was always my favourite and I was so lucky to meet the 3 of them 3 times already.
