 I  don't think he's ugly - he's a bit like Ten, not handsome in a slick way, but interesting. It might work. Although he's still a bit young.

Yup, but then again, this was ... what? Three years ago and he would've been only 23 then. Not that that makes him feel old enough now, but I like the first promo pictures quite a lot.

I hereby place my trust in Mr Moffat and his judgement. ;)

With you on the "bit young" part, but here's a quote from Steven Moffat that calmed me a little bit: "The Doctor is a very special part, and it takes a very special actor to play him. You need to be old and young at the same time, a boffin and an action hero, a cheeky schoolboy and the wise old man of the universe. As soon as Matt walked through the door and blew us away with a bold and brand new take on the Time Lord, we knew we had our man."
Course he has to stand behind the choice they made, but he seems really confident, and after all he knows the part of the Doctor and the history of the show good enough to make the right choice.
Plus: we still have half a year to go until filming of season 5 starts - maybe the stress of being Eleven will age him a bit until then ;)

Naja, alles was er gesehen hatte, waren die Publicityshots, ein Bild mit einer Ten!Brainy!Spec auf der Nase und das Stückchen aus "Ruby in the Smoke".
